Glitter, gold, fur, flowing fabrics, and ethereal simplicity. The dynamic duo that is Mark Badgley and James Mischka once again managed to bring a fairy tale to life on the runway this Tuesday at NYFW. Since they first teamed up in 1988, they have been capturing the hearts of women (and men) everywhere, and once again they did not disappoint.
Badgley and Mischka have always had a flair for taking a timeless look and transforming it into something entirely new and modern with their own touch of “pixie dust”. And in this particular case we mean that literally… as nearly every ensemble in this show had a subtle (or purposely not so subtle), dash of sparkle…and we couldn’t be more thrilled about it!
This collection truly captured the duality of the modern woman-From Audrey Hepburn-esque 1960’s inspired little black dresses, to form-fitting floor-length gold accented ensembles reminiscent of the queen of the Nile herself (with some tasteful splashes of animal prints, Vienna inspired fur hats, tweed pencil skirts, and feminine florals in between). Badgley Mischka once again proves that the modern woman really can have it all!
