CFDA Awards ’14: Stars Come Out to Play – DVF, Kors, Ford, Altuzarra

The capital of the world’s fashion capital, Lincoln Center, was set abuzz again as the CFDA Fashion Awards hit the town June 2.  By now you’d heard about Rihanna’s very revealing dress, which by viral internet standards was the true winner for the night, there were many other honors worth mentioning.

Fashion elite and celebs were out in full force as notables such as Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs, Blake Lively, Marion Cotillard, Olivia Wilde and Jennifer Hudson walked the the red carpet.  The nights big winners included Joseph Altuzarra (Altuzarra) captured the Womenswear Designer of the Year prize as presented by Hollywood darling Lupita Nyong’o.  Meanwhile Maxwell Osborne & Dao-Yi Chow (Public School) took home Menswear Designer of the Year, followed by Accessories DOTY going to The Rowtook of Mary-Kate Olsen & Ashley Olsen fame.

Among the evening’s highlights included the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Tom Ford “for his consistent, creative influence on fashion”.  Of course, the most talked about moment of the evening was Vogue editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, presenting the Fashion Icon award to Rihanna.
