Kinghorn’s concept for this collection was to focus on the connection between the wearer and the viewer.New York-based fashion designer Joanna Kinghorn took a moment out from her runway show recently to share some of her fashion insights with trendboardnyc. Her career on the rise, Kinghorn has steadily built her reputation logging hours with firms such as John Varvatos, OAK, and 3.1 Phillip Lim among notables.

In this brief video interview she describes how she “joins the science of perspective with design to effect the viewer’s interpretation of the garments as well as highlight the wearer.”

Kinghorn’s concept for this collection was to focus on the connection between the wearer and the viewer. She describes her approach as “manipulating the eye of the viewer to be drawn to the eye of the wearer”.
